Out With The Old, In With The New!

Hello Everyone!

Our shiny new domain name has arrived and is ready to help the animals of Clatsop County!

Welcome to clatsopanimalassistance dot org!

While Clatsop Animal Assistance the organization has been around in some form or another for over ten years (at least that’s as far back as the financial archives on the site go!), when we first launched a website, we went with the domain name dogsncats dot org. It was simple and conveyed our message, and served our needs for quite some time.

Now we’re a little bigger, with bigger needs. It was time for an upgrade.

But not to worry! The former URL you know and love will still belong to CAA, but will (soon!) redirect to the new one. Any email previously sent to the old “info” address will be redirected to the new inbox, and things should continue along as normal as soon as we get the virtual kittens herded.

Other than our URL, nothing else has changed! We’re still the same CAA we’ve always been, just now with the URL to go with it!

If you’re already a member, stay tuned for an email update on the progress of some behind-the-scenes goings-on.

If you’re NOT a member of CAA, we’re always looking for new volunteers for a number of things. Check out our Volunteer Opportunities Page and learn how you can help the animals of Clatsop County.

Thank you all for your support.

– Your Friends at CAA

2023 Annual Fundraiser & Holiday Party

The Clatsop Animal Assistance 2023 Happy Tails Holiday Fundraiser is in full swing.

Clatsop Animal Assistance is excited to announce our 2023 virtual Happy Tails Holiday Fundraiser, which went live October 1st and runs through New Year’s Day. Please join us again this year in celebrating the animals in our lives and the ones still waiting for loving homes at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter by logging in here at GiveLively. Please feel free to share and invite your friends to join in the fun.

Link to share: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/clatsop-animal-assistance/happy-tails-holiday-fundraiser-2023

Be sure mark your calendars for our December holiday party and fundraiser. We’ll be at the Fort George Lovell Showroom on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with Pictures with Santa, raffles, a silent auction, and our always popular bake sale.

Thanks to all of you for your continuing support. You make it possible for CAA to provide help and hope for the homeless dogs and cats in Clatsop County. Because of you, we’re always confident we can cover veterinary costs for the shelter animals, from wellness checkups for kittens to major surgeries and follow-up care. And we continue to cover a portion of spay/neuter costs; every dog or cat adopted from the shelter is altered before going home.

Volunteering at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter

Want to serve your community in a very real way? CAA is always in need of hard working and reliable volunteers!
Are you looking for unconditional love? Need an outdoor activity and lots of good exercise? Hoping to boost your mood and get rid of stress? Want to spend time with people want to talk about dogs and cats?
You can have all of this and that glow when you see the cats and dogs go out the front door to their new homes and know that you have made their shelter stay more enjoyable and helped get them ready for adoption.
New volunteer Lisa tells us…
“I have been a volunteer dog walker for 4 months and only wish I had started years ago. I care deeply for animals, but was reluctant to volunteer because I didn’t think I would be able to handle it emotionally. I was wrong, I had no idea how rewarding the experience would be. Every walk, trick, praise and pat that I contribute helps to improve the animal’s social skills and quality of life while they wait for their forever home. I look forward to my shelter shifts and always feel uplifted when I leave. The fresh air, movement, quality time with the dogs, and connection with an amazing group of shelter staff and volunteers fills my cup.”
CAA has plenty of opportunities, including dog walking, cat socializing and cuddling, fostering, transporting animals to vet appointments, and just loving on our animals.
Call the shelter to schedule an orientation! 503-861-7387. Orientations are held every Friday and Saturday, 10:00 to noon. Check out volunteer videos we made at https://clatsopanimalassistance.org/volunteer-opportunities/
