Nora is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of October 6, 2024

Meet Nora! This sweet brown tabby is looking for a home to call her own. She loves pets and ear scratches, which you`ll want to give her often because her ears are just adorable! With a little patience and TLC, her inner playfulness will surely emerge. Nora promises to repay your kindness with cuddles galore and purrs that will melt your heart. Nora can get overwhelmed with loud sounds and commotion, so we think she`ll best enjoy a calm home with an attentive family. Nora is a favorite of the volunteers at the shelter with her calm and personable demeanor. This sweet girl is ready for her forever home with forever love.

Muffin is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of September 8, 2024

Don’t let her name fool you, Muffin is no wall flower. At 15+, this mature black beauty has been around the block a few times. Despite her age, she rolled around on the scratching pad like a kitten this afternoon. She’s confident in who she is and what she wants – meow!! Muffin has short dense fur and a small, bright white patch on her chest. She also has a bit of a droopy tummy, some missing teeth and white whiskers! She has a lot to say in a bossy old gal sort of way and has a quirky way she swallows that makes it seem like she has a hair stuck on her tongue that she just can’t shake. Muffin scored big and gets to spend her time in a nice foster home. She’s quite a character and has shown how happy she can be in a quiet home environment. Her foster person reports that the biggest change since Muffin moved out of the shelter is that she is a lover. She still doesn’t like to be picked up, but she’ll put up with it as long as you’re quick, and her destination is a lap. She likes to sit in a lap and will settle down quickly to be petted. If you get distracted and stop petting her, she puts her front paws on your chest and rubs her head against you until you pet her. Once she’s satisfied, she leans against your shoulder for a while to be petted more. In summary, Muffin’s an older gal who needed a little time to adjust to her surroundings. She’s a very sweet cat once she settles in. She’s not a kitten any more, but if someone is looking for a low key friend who is fine with just hanging out, she`ll be a great companion. She’s also a terrific lap cat who will come and tell you when she needs to be in your lap – even though she’ll gripe about being picked up. If you think you could give Muffin her forever home, please call the shelter and make an appointment to meet this special girl. Or ask to have a conversation with the fosterer to learn even more about her.

Muffin is in a foster home, so if you’d like to meet her call the shelter at 503-861-7387 to set up a time. The shelter is open 9:30 to 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday, closed 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch.

Rory is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of September 1, 2024

Rory is a two-year-old husky mix with cream & tan fur and dazzling light brown eyes. As a young gal, Rory loves to get out and enjoy the world. She is curious and happy walking along our wooded trails and enjoys every toy in our play yard. Her love of play helps Rory do well with most dogs in our playgroups. She likes to be the Queen Bee among her playmates and will need to meet any dogs in the family before adoption. Rory can be momentarily shy when meeting new people but opens up her heart quickly and will make the most loving new pal. We’ve learned just how smart she is. Rory doesn’t want us to leave at night and we have to coax her into the inside part of her indoor-outdoor kennel so we can close her in, using treats we toss onto her bed. That trick stopped working when she figured out how to stand in the doorway and pull the bed close enough with her paw to get the treat without coming all the way inside. Genius!

Cosmo is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of August 11, 2024

Cosmo is an extremely affectionate young boy just looking for the right person to share his love with. This sweet boy has undergone some medical procedures to help him live his best life but has put all of that behind him now! He will need to be on a special diet, but it`s really no big deal now that he is all fixed up – he`s ready for his forever home. Cosmo has a very special loving energy to him; he`s already proven to be exceptionally good at winning hearts and providing stellar kitten therapy. In fact, if you have ever considered having a certified therapy cat – we think Cosmo might be an excellent candidate. He is an extremely cuddle bug with an A+ purr motor! Cosmo is being fostered by one of our friends at Bayshore Animal Hospital and he`s there in their lobby kennel on the days that she works. Please stop by to meet him – we promise you will fall in love.
