MAX is the KMUN, The Astorian, 949 The Bridge, Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of The Week for October 20th, 2025

Max is a very special boy who has been on quite a journey. When he arrived into shelter care he was in chronic mouth pain from a severe overbite and a detectable heart murmur. Clatsop Animal Assistance (CAA) is committed to supporting medical care for animals at The Clatsop County Animal Shelter. CAA covered the cost for Max is see a heart specialist and, once cleared, received dental extractions to help him life a more comfortable and healthy life.
He’s spent time in a loving foster home while we sorted out his medical concerns, and now he’s ready to find a forever family of his own.
Statuesque and regal in appearance, Max is as gentle and kind as he is handsome. His calm, affectionate nature is especially touching given that he lived much of his life with chronic mouth pain caused by a severe overbite. Since having three canine teeth removed, the pain is gone — and a playful, almost kitten-like side has emerged!
Max enjoys the company of both humans and other cats. His ideal home would include a friendly, playful feline companion and at least one devoted human who will cherish his snuggles and purrs.
He does have a detectable heart murmur, though it hasn’t caused any issues. His medical history will be included in his adoption folder for his new family’s veterinarian to review. His foster mom says his heart murmur just means he has an extra-tender heart — and that’s what makes him so lovable.
If he sounds like the perfect new addition to your home, please fill out an adoption application and make an appointment to meet him today!

Kiki is our KMUN, The Astorian, 949 The Bridge, and Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of October 6th 2025

Kiki is a black cat with a sleek coat and golden eyes. She’s almost all black but has the cutest little spot of white on her chest. She came to the shelter when her person moved and couldn’t take her with them. Kiki is ready to return to a loving home – she’s been a little confused as to why she’s not currently the light of someone’s life. She hasn’t been the biggest fan of the other cats in the shelter, but she loves people and attention. She’s a brave girl, and we know there’s a perfect place for this sweet girl. Kiki is 3-years-old, spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines. She’s ready to curl up and help you stay cozy with her warm heart and cuddle powers.
