Dee Dee is our KMUN, The Astorian, 949 The Bridge, and Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of May 4th, 2026

DeeDee is a sweet and playful girl looking for a quiet home where she can blossom.
DeeDee is a friendly, playful, lovely cat. In a new environment, however, it may take a while for these sweet traits to be revealed. Her foster mom describes it this way: `When DeeDee first came to me, she definitely let me know she needed time to adjust to a new home. She can still get startled by unexpected movement or noise, so a calm home is probably best for her. She likes human company and will be the perfect, loving, entertaining companion for some lucky adopter.` Since she isn`t a big fan of visiting new places, we`re asking potential adopters to meet her in her foster home. If you think you might have the right forever home for her, please fill out an application and then call the shelter to make an appointment to meet her.
Pet meet and greets are by appointment, so if you’d like to meet Dee Dee, call the shelter at 503-861-7387 or stop by the lobby to set up a time. The shelter is open 9:30 to 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday, closed 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch. You can also fill out an application here: https://www.clatsopcounty.gov/media/16441. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to adopt@ClatsopCounty.gov or print it and deliver it directly to the shelter.

Chaplin is our KMUN , The Astorian , 949 The Bridge , and Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of April 26, 2026

Chaplin is a 3.5 year old neutered male pit mix with a heart as big as his smile. Playful, affectionate, and full of personality, he thrives on spending quality time with his favorite people and will happily be your loyal sidekick.

He enjoys getting out for walks and can be an easy companion, but Chaplin is a strong boy when he wants to be. Because of that, he’s looking for a confident, experienced handler who can manage his strength and continue his leash training.

Chaplin would do best as the only dog in his forever home. He has previously lived with cats and kids, but younger children can overwhelm him so a home with older kids (or adults only) would be best.

What Chaplin really needs is a calm, structured home with a steady routine where he can feel safe, understood, and loved. He’s crate trained, up to date on all vaccines, and ready to find his person.

Chaplin has so much love and loyalty to give. ❤️

Meet Ricky 🐾🖤 3 years old • 15 lbs • All black beauty Ricky is a gentle, sweet soul who just wants love and pets. Despite healing from what we believe was a burn, he’s been such a brave little trooper—still kind, still trusting, and full of love. He’s currently rocking a donut while he heals (and it’s pretty adorable 🍩). Ricky is ready for a cozy home and someone to give him all the love he deserves.

Clyde is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, and CLASSIC HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of April 12, 2026

Adopted

Clyde is great with other dogs, does well with cats, rides nicely in the car, and is super sweet once he gets to know you. Around the office, he’s been an absolute gentleman.

He does have a couple of funny quirks. Clyde loves plastic and would much rather snag your recycling or Tupperware than play with his toys. He can also be a little shy with new people—especially women—and might give a low growl when he’s feeling nervous. It’s never been aggression, just him being unsure.

Clyde would be happiest in a home with another dog and an active lifestyle. Older kids could be a great fit, but little ones might be a bit overwhelming for him.

Honestly, he’s just a really good dog looking for the right home.

He’s currently in a foster home and comes into the shelter often, so you might get to meet him if you stop by the shelter.

Bailey is our KMUN , The Astorian , 949 The Bridge , and Classic Hits 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of March 29, 2026

Adopted
Big things come in small packages with this German Shepherd mix! Bailey is just under 1 year old, fully grown at approximately 40 lbs, and the perfect blend of smart, loyal, and eager to please. She may be shy at first but warms up quickly. Bailey is highly trainable, treat-motivated, and easy to walk on a leash. She bonds closely with her person and is the kind of dog who will happily follow you around the property just to be near you—she does best in a home where she’s not left alone for long. Currently living in foster with three large dogs, Bailey is social, playful, and full of puppy energy—she can be a bit mouthy with a herding instinct but is learning her boundaries. She’s content entertaining herself with toys, but enjoys the company of other dogs. Bailey would do best in a cat-free home without small children while she continues to mature. Have German Shepherd experience and looking for a loyal companion? Bailey might be your girl.
