Wiley is a 8-month-old shepherd mix eager to be your best friend and the shelter is no place for him grow up. As a young fellow, Wiley has a lot of happy puppy energy and loves exploring trails and playing ball in the shelter play yard. He has participated in our shelter playgroups and has a great time with his dog friends. Our trainers have been working with him on a variety of life skills including loose leash walking. Wiley will thrive with someone willing to continue his training, someone that will provide structure and companionship. He wants a family to be there as he becomes a loyal and loving forever pal! Small but mighty! That’s Willow. Weighing in at 40 pounds this three-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier packs a lot of sweetness into her foot-high frame. Willow walks well on leash and enjoys zooming around the play yard. Willow wants to be with people. A family working from home or looking for a traveling companion will find a best friend in Willow. She has shown reactivity to dogs both large and small so at this time we are saying she needs to be the only animal in the home. Buckley, with his golden heart and velvety coat, is still looking for his forever home. He is a sensitive, shy guy who quickly opens up for snuggles. At three years old, this Pitt-Mix is the perfect age for fun energy and calm walks. Buckley participates in our shelter playgroups and does well with most dogs, but because he didn’t get along with the dogs in his previous home, he’ll need to meet any dogs in the home to ensure it’s the right fit for his sweet soul.

Meet bonded pair Haku and Chihiro. Haku and Chihiro came to the shelter when their person was no longer able to care for them. They make a great duo, Haku doing all of the investigating and being brave with Chihiro observing from the sidelines until she knows she has friends to meet. These two promise to more than double the delight in the lucky home that gives these two a second chance at love. Chihiro and Haku are staying with our friends at Riverdog Astoria (1389 Duane St) so go by to meet them during their open hours (Mon – Sat 10-6 and Sunday 10-4)
