CAA Happy Tails Holiday Fundraiser

The Clatsop Animal Assistance 2021 virtual Happy Tails Holiday Fundraiser  is in full swing now through New Year’s Day.  Please join us in celebrating the animals in our lives and the ones still waiting for loving homes at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter. Thanks to all of you for your continuing support.  You make it possible for CAA to provide help and hope for the homeless dogs and cats in Clatsop County.

Trooper is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of October 3, 2021

Adopted!

Sue tells us, “Trooper is a stunning 3-year-old Doberman mix. We wonder if there is some Weimaraner in there because of his satiny tawny-amber-umber coloration. His new home will need a fenced yard as he loves to trounce about and play like a rocking horse. He’s learning to walk on leash yet is smart, sophisticated, and thoughtful. The more you hang out with Trooper, the more you realize what a special fellow he is: loyal, a bit opinionated, and eager to please.”

Strong and loving, Trooper is hoping to go home soon!

Brody is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of September 19, 2021

Adopted!
Here’s a “seriously cool dog alert!” from Natalie. “Not only is Brody handsome and super easy to walk, he is also our resident snuggle bug. Sometimes when we are on a stroll together he stops in the middle of the sidewalk hoping I will pet and hug him. Brody is just looking for a lot of love and affection. Aren’t we all?”

Sonny is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of September 12, 2021

Adopted!

Post and photo are by Carrie:

“Anyone owned by cats understands that as creatures, they don’t like change. Move a sofa, they think they’ve been teleported to a strange new land. Leave a shoe someplace it shouldn’t be, they prowl around it with deep suspicion and possibly a swipe or slap of a paw. Some cats are actually pretty adaptable, adjusting to new things speedily, while other require a little more time.

Sonny needs a little more time. The circumstances which brought him to the shelter have likely had an impact on his reticence (animals experience things like depression, anxiety – perhaps differently to how humans do, yet they do have these yokes to bear too), but he is quickly warming up and venturing out and about. He would prefer to go at his own pace, and for everyone to respect that. He doesn’t seem terribly fond of the other cats at this moment in time, though with proper introductions and boundaries, he would likely be just fine in a household setting.

He is also a stunner of a cat. With his deep russet coat and soulful eyes, Sonny could be on television. He is just plump enough to be adorable. As we tumble quickly into autumn, perhaps think about getting your first pumpkin loaf of the season. The first one is always the best, and Sonny will prove that to you.

And then prove to you the first will last and last.”

Sookie is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of August 15, 2021

Adopted!

Brenda tells us, “Sookie is a little selective, but once you earn her trust she is a very sweet kitty. She yearns for a home with a high perch and an interesting window to watch.” And Lynn says she “is beautiful and enjoys being brushed.” Sookie is a large two and a half year old long haired torti cat whose owner couldn’t keep.
